Shanshan is a doctoral candidate in the Legal Tech Group at TU Munich under the guidance of Matthias Grabmair. Affiliated with MaiNLP at LMU, she benefits from the mentorship of Barbara Plank. With prior experience as a speech scientist at Nuance Communications/Cerence, Shanshan completed her master’s degree in Cultural and Cognitive Linguistics at LMU Munich. Her research interests encompass Natural Language Processing (NLP) in LegalTech, Computational Social Science, and Computational Linguistics.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Shanshan is actively involved as an organizer for Munich🥨NLP. She spearheads events that promote community engagement, with a particular focus on supporting and encouraging women in NLP. Shanshan’s dedication extends to actively fostering diversity and inclusivity within the field, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive research environment.
